Week 13 Portraits

These pictures turned out to be fun taking. It was hard to get the girls to be serious, but they had fun. Getting portraits are harder to take then I thought it would be. It seemed like the "perfect" shot could not happen.

Photos with Text

This was my second picture at adding text and I found more creative ways of writing my text. I found the wrap for texting and used the wave pattern to add to the text.
This picture just says it all...Took me a few tries to get this to print but the more I played with the texting I found more things to do with it.

Clone stamping

After taking a picture of the moon yesterday, I decided it would be fun to add a few more moons to our atmosphere. I used the clone stamp and after a few tries, figured out how to stamp more moons.

Filters

Here is one of the sunset pictures that I distorted with an ocean ripple.
This picture I took this winter of the birds at the feeder. I used the artistic with the plastic wrap. I really like the different looks these filters can give the pictures.

Dodge and Burn

After playing with the burn and dodge tool I lightened the sky and gave a more deeper color to the trees.
This is the original picture that I took this fall at a playground. The color was starting to go by one the trees.

Week 8

I cropped this picture and increased the red saturation for the bird to stand out more.
This is the original photo. I took this from my livingroom window this winter. I zoomed in so that I had a nice picture of the bird.

Week 8

This is the original picture of the North Springfield Dam. Taken on a bright sunny day in March.
With this picture I increased the blue saturation and also the brightness. In the color balance I also increased the magenta and green. I like the colors a lot better in this one. It has taken me a while to play with this but the more that I did I liked what I came up with. Taking blah pictures and adding color can really change the look. With this program my pictures can good good no matter what.

Week 8

This is the picture that I updated using photoshop. I added more greens and a little red color to bring it out. This to me makes the waterfall looks more like it is in a tropical setting and not in a hotel. This was my first picture so I had some trouble finding what I wanted to do. This is a waterfall from one of the hotels in Las Vegas.
This is the original picture it seemed very dark to me. I wanted to bring more color into it.

Wally

Here is Wally (the redsox mascot) getting some sun before the season starts. I really had fun with photoshop once I figured everything out. Transforming my pictures were the hard part but I finally got it.

sunset

This is one of my favorite pictures showing landscape. It is in the Dom. Republic, we were on our way to dinner and I stopped to take a picture and loved the way it came out. I have since framed it and it is hanging on our wall.

Assignment #2 Thirds

I was a little confused about this assignment. Here is a solar light on our deck as the focus point of the picture.

Now the light is in one third of the picture. Showing more landscape.

Assignment #1 Aesthetics

“I'm a passionate believer in the inherent creativity possessed by all people and our inherent ability--if it's not clouded by convention--to appreciate authentic beauty in all forms, whether we like it or not”. Porter Arneill

Aesthetics is what each person sees in that picture of piece of art. Everyone will have different views of viewing art.
It was interesting to find this information focusing on Kansas City Arts. We are thinking about planning a trip to Kansas City and someone mentioned how much art is in that city. Then to find these quote on aesthetics was something else!

Lighting and shadows

To do the different lighting effects I took three pictures of the same area at different times of the day. The first one was taken around 10:00 in the morning. It shows some shadow and mostly sun.
Standing in the same place on my deck I took another around 3:30 in the afternoon. The sun was already starting to set and mostly shade was around.
The last picture was taken at 5:00 and the sun was already gone for the day. It was bright during the day as it melted the snow on the railing. All the photos were taken on auto mode.

Complementary/monochrome

I thought that my Christmas poinsetta was the perfect complementary photo, showing two different colors at opposites sides of the color wheel. The flowers are still in bloom from Christmas time (plants never last this long for me).
After last Wednesday's snow storm, I took this picture early Thursday morning. The picture seems to show many hues of white making it a monochrome photo.

For the Birds

I took these pictures in the morning before going to work. The feeder in the tree, and all the bird seed that seems to fall to the ground. I noticed that when looking at the bird seed on the ground it seems to have lots of details. Up close seems to show all the seeds singled out. I starting to have fun with the different settings that I have found on this camera.
